Mark Puma - Principal

Mr. Mark Puma has been the principal of Sutherland High School since 2017. He started his career in the Pittsford Central School District as a high school music teacher and department leader until being named assistant principal at Mendon Center Elementary School in 2011.

Mr. Puma earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts – music performance from SUNY Purchase, a master’s degree in music from SUNY Potsdam and an administrative certification from SUNY Brockport.

Danielle Cota - Assistant Principal

Ms. Cota came to Pittsford Schools with over 14 years of experience in education and a background in educational leadership, restorative practices, and collaborative problem-solving.  

Prior to her role with Pittsford Schools, Ms. Cota served as Vice Principal of Cleveland High School in Portland, OR, from 2021 to 2026 where she was a core member of the executive leadership team for more than 1,400 students.

Ms. Cota earned a Master of Arts in Secondary Education, Biology 7-12 from Hunter College, New York, NY; a Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, NY; and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY. She also has her Initial Administrator License from Portland State University.

Tyler Manchester - Assistant Principal

Mr. Manchester comes to Pittsford Schools after serving as principal of the Rochester Academy Charter School since 2019. He began at the Rochester Academy Charter School as a social studies teacher, then assistant principal, and most recently served as the school’s principal. He also served as an Academic Intervention Services (AIS) tutor in the Brighton and Pal-Mac Central School Districts from 2012-2015.

Manchester earned a bachelor’s degree from St. John Fisher University (College), a master’s degree in Inclusive Adolescence Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, and school/district leadership certifications from SUNY Brockport.
