July 14 Board of Education Reorganization/Regular Meeting

The Pittsford Central School District Board of Education will hold its Reorganization/Regular Board Meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in the Barker Road Middle School McCluski Room.

The Board of Education welcomes the residents of our school community to feel comfortable in sharing matters of interest or concern about the Pittsford Central School District, during the public comment portion of the regular Board meeting. There is an online submission form (https://pittsfordschoolsorg.finalsite.com/fs/form-manager/view/d09ea95e-1ae3-4918-98eb-1f4787745fa0).

Sutherland Student Named American Lung Association Youth Ambassador of the Year

Congratulations to Sutherland High School student Ved Deshmukh who has been named the American Lung Association’s Western NY regional winner of the Youth Ambassador of the Year award, in recognition of his work against tobacco and nicotine use. Ved received this award out of about 140 applicants across the state at a conference at SUNY Oswego on June 30, 2026.

If You Don’t Know, Now You Know: What Every Guardian Should Know About E-Bikes & E-Scooters

E-bikes and e-scooters are becoming increasingly popular with young people, but many adults are surprised to learn that these motorized devices are not the same as traditional bikes. National Electronic Surveillance System (NEISS) data from 2023 show e-bike injuries accounted for 49.8% of all pediatric traffic-related hospitalizations and e-bike use has only increased since then!

In New York, it is against the law for anyone under 16 years old to operate an e-bike or e-scooter.

E-bikes and e-scooters are motorized vehicles with the same responsibilities as driving a vehicle.

You must also check local laws for each municipality as every location has their own codes!

Help Shape the Future of Education in Pittsford

Pittsford Central School District is seeking a community volunteer with business experience to serve on its Instructional Leadership Council (ILC), a key advisory group dedicated to advancing educational excellence across the District. 

Qualified candidates must be available to attend monthly meetings on Thursdays from 1:00–4:00 p.m., beginning on October 15, 2026.
